Dukes Research spans approximately 230 acres. White Cedars grow undisturbed in this protected area, as do red maple, sugar maple, yellow birch, American elm, eastern hemlock, and black ash trees.
  • Hiawatha National Forest – Known as the “Great Lakes National Forest,” Hiawatha, to this day, continues to awe and inspire its visitors with its impressive shorelines, lighthouses, and vast forests. Hiawatha has the special privilege of being nestled along the banks of three of North America’s Great Lakes: Superior, Huron, and Michigan. Aside from providing visitors a plethora of recreational opportunities, Hiawatha’s most significant contribution is that it serves as a habitat to a wealth of wildlife and plant species.
