Located at the western tip of Marquette County, Powell Township is right on Lake Superior, north of the city of Marquette. Incorporated in 1904, the neighborhood has a total area of 162.3 square miles and a population of 724 residents.
There are several unincorporated communities found in the township, namely Big Bay, Alder, Antlers, Birch and Homeier. Powell Township is ideally situated amid lush forests and is overlooked by the peaks of the Huron Mountains.
