Michigamme Township

Located at the western tip of Marquette County, the township of Michigamme has a total area of 144 square miles and a population of just 271 based on the 2010 census.

The township offers a peaceful, rural lifestyle with all kinds of wide open spaces, and residents here enjoy the fact that they’re in close proximity to the best of what nature has to offer. The town also has a rich history, with a past founded on the lumbering and mining industries. Nearby communities include Republic, West Ishpeming, L’Anse and Negaunee.

Michigamme Spurr 4th of July – This annual community event celebrates Independence day with exciting  live musical performances, fireworks, and a colorful parade down main street. Attendees can look forward to lots of fun, food and games that the whole family can enjoy.
