The Lake Superior Community Partnership recently sold 2014 Shop Local Passports, giving residents and visitors strong incentives to shop and buy locally this holiday season. All proceeds raised will go to benefit economic development in Marquette County, and the passports paid for themselves after just a few uses. You get a discount while shopping AND you’re helping the county’s economic development? It’s a win-win!
Marquette Township is also home to one of the most diverse shopping centers in all of the Upper Peninsula. There are several big national retailers who have settled in the township, as the township can offer valuable acreage and land that the city just doesn’t have to give. Marquette Township is home to the only Target store on the Upper Peninsula, as well as a Wal-Mart Supercenter and one of the area’s two Menards stores.
